NTT DOCOMO provides services for telecommunications and smart lifestyles to more than 84 million mobile phone users in Japan, but its on-premises data platform limited the ability to scale infrastructure and use the latest tools. As more services were added, data became increasingly decentralized and difficult for company departments to use properly. To solve this, the company migrated its on-premises data platform to AWS in just seven months, switching from a one-size-fits all analytics platform to environments tailored to the needs of individual organizations while establishing data catalogs for easier analytics. This saw analytics accounts multiply by thirteen times in under a year, ten times more analysis environment builds, and a boost in internal data user numbers.
Liberty Latin America (LLA), a rapidly expanding connectivity services provider, wanted to implement a new cloud-native BSS that it could use for core business functions such as account management, customer management, billing, and more. Connecting LLA’s legacy on-premises data centers to the cloud while maintaining data sovereignty to comply with local regulations was central to designing a cloud-first BSS. CSG, an advanced technology partner, has worked with AWS on several tier 1 telco projects.
